Costal Cleanup Day
Sept 23, 2017, 11:00AM
This fall’s Coastal Cleanup Day will be observed by East Shore on Saturday, September 23. Everyone - adults, children, and teens - meet at Parking Lot #1 at Mentor Headlands at 11:00 AM that day. After the cleanup, those who wish to stay on a bit longer will share food for lunch. So bring something to share.
Cleaning up plastic and other trash from our Lake Erie Headlands Beach removes items from the environment that harms aquatic life in the Great Lakes. Also, much of what ends up in Lake Erie eventually finds its way into the ocean and harms marine life there as well.
Coastal Cleanup Day encourages us to get out to our beaches and to help limit the harms to life by cleaning up the trash that washes up on our lake shore and that left by visitors every day. Please join us as we join people all across the nation in doing our part for our Great Lakes and for the oceans. It’s work, but it’s fun and fellowship as well; and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you are leaving the planet a little better off.
