Walk to End Alzheimers

Start Date

This walk is on a Sunday, right at the time of church.  So you can either walk in person and skip the church service, or you can go to church and support the walk through an East Shore Team that Maggie Calkins is heading up.

Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementias are the 6th leading form of death in the US- and the only major disease that continues to have increased mortality rates, versus cancers, heart disease/stroke and HIV—all of which are seeing reductions in deaths due to more effective treatments.  We have had a number of church members who have lived with dementia, and struggled with the changes it causes.

Registration opens 8am, Ceremony at 10am, Walk at 10:30am.

In the last year, leadership and members of the congregation have expressed an interest in being more involved as a congregation with our local community, here in Kirtland and Chesterland.  We want to be better neighbors and to have more of a positive impact on the community that we are part of.  This is a great way to show to ourselves and our neighbors what we are capable of!
