Rev. Dr. RinaShere’s ministerial call lies in community ministry and chaplaincy. She currently serves as a Mental Chaplain at the Cleveland VA Medical Center. She provides spiritual care to veterans with a focus in serious mental illness, moral injury and trauma. Fall 2021 Rev. Rina is beginning a fellowship program at the Vanderbilt Divinity School focused on Mental Health Integrated Chaplaincy. She also serves as the Affiliated Community Minister with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Cleveland.
Prior to this she served as the Director of Lifespan Faith Development at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Cleveland and as the Director of Religious Education at First Unitarian Church in Lynchburg, VA. She completed her Master of Divinity at the Methodist Theological School of Ohio and her Doctorate of Education at Columbia University. Rev. Rina is also a certified Yoga Nidra instructor, medical Qi Gong practice leader, Reiki master and labyrinth facilitator.
She lives in Shaker Heights, Ohio with her husband and they are enjoying the “empty nest” phase of their lives. Her interests include the arts, politics, gardening and yoga.
Rev. Rina is looking forward to spending time with the ESUUC congregation and staff this church year co-facilitating conversations and worship experiences that spark curiosity and new growth.
