Our Sisters’ Keepers

Our Sisters’ Keepers will meet Sunday, January 7 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Community Church of Chesterland, 11984 Caves Rd., Chesterland 44026.We will hear how their Congregation decided to host the Story Hour that a white supremacist tried to firebomb last spring, what has happened since, and how the congregation is moving forward.
The assault on that church’s beliefs made national and international news. Read here for more information from the British daily newspaper, The Guardian.Assistant attorney general Kristen Clarke of the U.S. Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division stated, “Attempting to burn down the Community Church of Chesterland for their support of the LGBTQI+ community is reprehensible.”The Justice Department, Clarke added, “will continue to protect all Americans in their free exercise of religious beliefs by vigorously prosecuting those who target houses of worship.”About Our Sisters’ Keepers
If you would like to attend OSK meetings, no need to RSVP – just show up.Our Sisters’ Keepers is a women’s interfaith group that includes members of numerous Muslim, Unitarian, Jewish and Christian faith groups in northeast Ohio as well as unaffiliated individuals. The organization was started in September 2017 by women from East Shore and the Muslim Association of Cleveland East (MACE) in Richmond Heights.
