Esther & Marjie, originally from NY and MA, respectively, moved to NE Ohio from Florida just over a year ago when they both retired. They have been married for 23 years and have three grown children and 4 grandchildren. (They also have a constant canine companion, Bodhi.)
Long time UUs, Esther and Marjie had been searching for just the right spiritual home in the area and found it at East Shore. They both feel that this wonderful community has been friendly and welcoming to them from the very first time they walked through the doors. (Patrick even had a name tag for them by the third time they visited! Talk about making them feel welcome!)
Before they retired, Esther taught English & Literature at Barry University and Marjie was a college administrator responsible for designing and facilitating soft skills, leadership, and management training programs for faculty and staff at Broward College.
They were both active members of the River of Grass UU Congregation for over 23 years and are looking forward to becoming active members at East Shore, their new spiritual home.
