Long-time East Shore member Dorothy Lemmey has published Mothering Dorothy Mothering Dawn. |
When Dorothy learned in 1971 that her infant daughter Dawn was profoundly intellectually disabled and physically impaired, she felt compelled to study nursing so she could be the best mother and caregiver possible. She loved and nurtured her daughter for 31 years and became a nurse and educator of nurses. She credits Dawn with fueling her determination to succeed at mothering and nursing. In honor of her precious daughter, she now shares her story of their struggles and their love. Dorothy’s book can be ordered on Amazon here. |
