Calling all chili chefs! For the first time in three years, the Membership Committee brings you The Great Chilly Chili Cook-off on February 19, just in time to thaw you out in the dead of winter. You bring in a pot/crockpot of chili and we (the congregation) vote for our favorite meat and vegetable chilies. The winner in each of those two categories will receive a $25 gift card to Heinen’s, Trader Joe’s or Giant Eagle, winner’s choice.
Eating/voting begins right after the church service — and we appreciate your edible donation as our Coffee Hour lunch! If you are not inclined to compete for the prize, we encourage you to bring in some cornbread, bread or muffins to go along with tasting our congregation’s fabulous chilis.
All entries are welcome, just sign up on the table in the narthex to let us know you’ll be participating so we know how much space to provide. Cups and spoons provided. One great idea for taste-testing each entry though is to bring in a muffin tin and fill each “cup” with a different chili.
It’s been a while since we have been comfortable doing this, so whether you’re entering or simply enjoying the flavors, we hope to see you there!
