Part Time CHURCH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Effective Date: January 2022
Location: East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church
Reports to: Minister of Congregation/Board Chair
Job Status: 16 hours per week (12 hours per week in the Summer), Tuesday-Friday
Salary range: 13.25-15.00 per hour based on experience

Job Summary: Administrative duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. Supports minister, Director of Religious Education, employees, and church leaders through a variety of tasks related to organization, communication, and programming under moderate supervision. Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material. Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  Ability to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities:
• Carry out administrative duties such as answer phone and directing calls, filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc. in a timely manner
• Maintain church directory database, contact lists and calendar
• Produce and distribute church worship bulletin, newsletter, correspondence, memos, letters, emails, etc.
• Ensure operation of office equipment, and maintain office and program supplies
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
• Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient and to resolve problems
• Receive, sort and distribute the mail

Requirements:
• Proven administrative experience
• Working knowledge of basic office equipment
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word), GoogleWorkspace, Publisher or other basic editing program, basic organizational and mail client software.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Inter-culturally competent with a developing understanding of anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-oppression, and multiculturalism
• Able to work with people of all ages and backgrounds with patience and respect
