May is Taxable Pantry Collection Month

We have all seen the rise in the costs of toilet paper, paper towels and
toiletries taking up larger parts of our budgets. Food Stamps recipients are
not allowed to purchase any non-food items which include items such as
laundry soap and paper products.

Old South Church Food Pantry has put a call out to local churches and
organizations to help them with replenishing the food pantry with these
consumables, non-food items. Divine Word Catholic Church has taken the
lead in this coordinated collection and our church, East Shore UU will be
the collection site for May 2024.

Old South Church would appreciate donation of the following types of
items:

Paper Products: Toilet paper, Paper towels, Kleenex
Soaps: Dishwashing Soap, Laundry Detergent, Hand Soap
Toiletry Items: Toothpaste, Shampoo, Feminine Hygiene

Collections bins will be located in the Narthex. Any and all items will be
greatly appreciated. If you would like general information about the Old
South Food Pantry, Nora Nemec, Pam Leininger and Gayle Swaine are all
active volunteers.
